Itinerary

When you think about Malaga, what comes to mind? Beaches, sea, and sun? Most likely, you're correct. Yes, it has all of those things for sure, but it also has great history and culture. This incredible offer actually covers admission to no fewer than six of Malaga's top museums. We believe this to be our best-value ticket—don't tell anyone.

The Museo Casa Natal de Picasso is one of the six, and it is obviously devoted to the most well-known son of the city. Furthermore, it's located in the same building as his birthplace!

One of Spain's greatest art museums outside of Madrid is the Museo Carmen Thyssen, where you may find even more artwork. Indeed, it is a sister museum to the capital of Spain's museum. Its collection of Spanish artworks from the 19th century is a treasure trove of discoveries.

The Interactive Music Museum, or MIMMA, is sure to keep youngsters of all ages entertained. There aren't many museums where you can pick up a guitar or play some drums! When you combine these with the Museo Revello de Toro, you get a fantastic combo.

You can take a bay cruise and explore the city from the sea when you need to sit down and unwind. It's a truly amazing experience. Also, you can move throughout the city with the aid of your 24-hour hop-on, hop-off bus ticket. You'll be especially grateful if you wish to witness the breathtaking vistas from the top of the Castillo de Gibralfaro.

Popular attractions include:

  • Alcazaba: Built in the early 11th century by the Hammudid dynasty, the Alcazaba served as a palace and fortress. It’s one of the best-preserved Moorish fortresses in Spain.
  • Gibralfaro Castle: Originally built in the 10th century by Abd-al-Rahman III, it was expanded in the 14th century by Yusuf I of the Kingdom of Granada. The castle served as a military fortress to protect the Alcazaba and the city.
  • Málaga Cathedral: Construction of the cathedral began in 1528 on the site of a former mosque, following the Reconquista. It wasn't fully completed until 1782, and one of its towers remains unfinished, earning it the nickname "La Manquita" (the one-armed lady).
  • Picasso Museum: This museum is dedicated to the works of Pablo Picasso, who was born in Málaga. It houses an extensive collection of his works, including paintings, sculptures, and ceramics.
  • The Botanical Gardens: Founded in 1855, the Málaga Botanical Gardens are one of the oldest in Spain. They were established by the Marquises of Casa Loring and later expanded and enriched by subsequent owners.
  • Carmen Thyssen Museum: The museum focuses on 19th-century Spanish paintings, with a strong emphasis on Andalusian art.
